About the Role


We are looking for a Perception Engineer to help build the intelligent perception systems that enable our robotic platforms to understand and navigate complex real-world environments.

You will design, develop, and deploy advanced computer vision and perception solutions for robotic systems. Your work will span object detection, 6-DOF pose estimation, localization, sensor fusion, and machine learning.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging perception problems, working with real-world sensor data, and turning research into reliable, production-ready robotic systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop and deploy state-of-the-art computer vision and perception models.

  • Drive our perception approach with a focus on object detection, 6-DOF pose estimation, mapping, and localization.

  • Integrate data from multiple sensing modalities, including cameras, LiDAR, radar, and other sensors.

  • Build and improve data pipelines, model training workflows, and validation infrastructure.

  • Research and develop advanced perception models for challenging environments, including bright sunlight, shadows, reflections, and occlusions.

  • Optimize model training and inference for GPU performance, memory usage, and execution speed.

  • Integrate, test, and deploy reliable, production-ready perception solutions.

  • Collaborate with robotics, engineering, and other cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

What We're Looking For


  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing perception solutions for robotic systems.

  • Strong experience in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, or related AI fields.

  • Extensive experience with object detection, pose estimation, mapping, and localization.

  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch.

  • Experience working with real-world robotic systems and sensor data.

  • A degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through complex technical challenges.

  • Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver with light supervision.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy advanced computer vision and perception models for robotic systems.
  • Build solutions for object detection, 6-DOF pose estimation, mapping, and localization.
  • Integrate data from cameras, LiDAR, radar, and other sensing modalities.
  • Develop and improve data pipelines, model training, and validation infrastructure.
  • Research and optimize perception models for challenging real-world conditions, including shadows, reflections, occlusions, and varying lighting.
  • Optimize, integrate, test, and deploy production-ready perception solutions while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Must Have

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience developing perception solutions for robotic systems.
  • Strong expertise in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, or related AI fields.
  • Extensive experience with object detection, pose estimation, mapping, and localization.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and experience with PyTorch or similar frameworks.
  • Experience developing, training, validating, and deploying perception models.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills with the ability to work independently.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with cameras, LiDAR, radar, or multi-modal sensor fusion.
  • Experience optimizing deep learning models for GPU-based training and inference.
  • Experience building perception data pipelines and validation infrastructure.
  • Research experience, publications, or contributions in computer vision, robotics, or AI.
  • Experience taking perception models from research into production environments.
  • Experience working in fast-paced robotics, autonomous systems, or physical AI environments.
